Aunt Elaine is the last of her generation and a wonderful example.

All of Desi's siblings were together in Colorado on a special run to honor and raise money for research for the cancer with which Desi's mother, Karen, suffers.

Lillis and Frank Byers' 50th Wedding Celebration

Lillis and Frank knew of each other all of their lives because their mother's worked together in a bakery when they were young women and both were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Both were born in California.  It wasn't until Frank came up to BYU that 15-year-old Lillis really noticed him.  They started writing when Frank served a mission in the Western States and continued while she served a mission in the Central Atlantic States.
