Trip to Arizona--December 30, 2017 to January 5, 2018

Grandma and Grandpa Rogers had a wonderful trip to Arizona to visit with Brandon and Melody and their three precious daughters, Charlotte, Kate, and Victoria.  We arrived on Charlotte and Kate's 4th birthday and celebrated with them by going to Tumbleweed Park then to dinner at Burger King.

Charlotte and Kate got Anna and Elsa dolls from the Disney movie "Frozen."  They talked and sang in both English and Spanish until Brandon took the batteries out for a rest.

They also got a race car track with two cars.  The pink and red dresses came from Kristilyn.  Melody had to finally hide them because that's all they would wear for two days.

Victoria was enchanted with the dolls

Making and decorating cupcakes is an important tradition in their family.  Charlotte's cupcakes had pink frosting and Kate's had blue.

Victoria thinks she should climb walls like her sisters.

At this point Melody keeps very little in the lower cupboards in her kitchen because the girls use them.

Brandon loves his new grand piano.  He plays beautifully by note  and by ear.

The dogs were a favorite Christmas present.  The girls play with them often and take them for walks around the house.

The artificial grass is delightful in the back yard.  Brandon pushes the girls around.

They planted two kinds of orange trees last year.  This one had 5 regular-sized oranges which were kind of dry.

This is a smaller, mandarin type orange which was very sweet.

The zoo is very large.  We spent four hours there and didn't see everything.  They have purchased a membership for 2018 so they can come more often.

Kate and Charlotte are nimble little monkeys.

Victoria is fascinated with the animals.

Notice how he blends into the foliage.

Zebras are favorites.

Picnic at the zoo.

Victoria loved this sculpture because she could touch it.

The elephant is a must see!

The "activity" (Nativity) with Melody (Mary), Brandon (Joseph) and Baby Jesus (Charlotte) was repeated several times during our visit with different people playing the parts.  When they had Christmas Eve with Meri, Shane, and Molly, Molly said that the Wise Men brought gold, Frankenstein, and myrrh.  They made gingerbread houses together.

A pensive Charlotte.  The children are learning in pre-school that it is important to "find a new friend" and they are working on those skills.

Victoria thinks that she should do everything her sisters do.
