2019 June, Idaho trip, Woodrow Wilson's death

Cousin Janice Rasband Wagner was very kind and helpful to Melody when Charlotte and Kate were born in Las Vegas. Her husband Woody died suddenly and unexpectedly of a massive heart attack while undergoing dialysis as he had three times a week for eight years.

Dr. Woodrow Wilson Wagner Jr., 77, of Las Vegas, passed away June 2, 2019. Born in Bell, CA to Darlene and Woodrow Wagner Sr. in 1942. The family moved to Nevada in 1950. He graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas in 1959, and married Ina Reber of Mesquite, NV in 1960 while attending Brigham Young University. After graduating BYU, he attended Dental School in St. Louis, MO. Upon completion, the family moved back to Las Vegas where he practiced Dentistry for 39 years to support his expanding family. He retired in 2005.

Woodrow was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved family, friends, music, a good joke, and a good Western. He was a man of stature, strength, learning, and generosity. In 2006 Woody married Janice Rasband.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina; and parents. He is survived by his wife, Janice; 11 children; 7 siblings; 36 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. We thank our Heavenly Father that we have been blessed to call him husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Viewings Fri. June 7, 6-8 p.m. and Sat. June 8, 9:3010:30 a.m., Funeral at 11 a.m. All services at the LDS Alta and Jones Chapel 6100 W. Alta Dr.

Aunt Lillis Byers was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  DNA analysis at Huntsman Cancer Institute shows that there are no genetic markers for any kind of cancer even though her brother and mother died of pancreatic cancer.  They all lived in Millard County during the atomic testing in Nevada which scattered radiation over that area.

Mike and Desi celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary this month.  They attended a Rockies baseball game.  Later in the month Mordecai sang the national anthem there with his elementary choir.

Emily broke her toe/foot  and had to be in a walking cast for three weeks.  Fortunately she had already had her dance recital and been recognized for being on the honor roll.  She went to camp with the cast.

Father's Day for Mike and his family.

Father's Day for Keith and his family.

Jason has been accepted into the BYU MBA program this fall so their family will be moving to Utah in August.

Amelia shows her castle garden that she created in her classes at Red Butte Garden.

John, Lillian, and Amelia all enjoy classes as well as growing things in their own yard.  The girls enjoyed a math camp as well.

Learning to play the piano is an important skill.

Their corn is growing well along their driveway.

Grandpa and Grandma took James and Grant with us to Idaho to celebrate Daniel's 13th birthday early.  We drove up on Friday, Jun 21, and returned Sunday afternoon, June 23.  We stopped for a short hike in the lava fields.

The sky was amazing with a rainbow even though there was no rain on the ground.

We arrived in time for Anna's music therapy class that she loves.

New neighbors built a fence around their home so there is no longer the huge grassy field between the homes.

Friday evening we went to the Rexburg Temple and did baptisms for the dead.

Daniel was excited to receive a Rex Sox t-shirt for his birthday.  The Red Sox are his favorite baseball team.

Katrina is making an afghan for a project for YW.  She is also writing Anna's story with many, many miracles and tender mercies.

It was too cold to camp out or swim so they set up a tent in the basement.  James has a cast on his arm from two broken bones in his forearm.  He hoped to get the cast off the following Wednesday but x-rays showed one bone hadn't healed and so he will have the cast for another three weeks and a splint for 2-3 more weeks after that.

We enjoyed the pizza/pasta/salad buffet at PizzaPieCafe.

Miniature golf at FatCats was fun followed by the movie National Treasure.  The adults enjoyed board games in the evening.

Daniel had lots of Nerf guns and ammunition which the boys enjoyed.  They also loved the ping pong table and Daniel's electronics.

Sister Michelle Craig of the Young Women General Presidency visited their ward as part of the training the general officers do.  She sent this letter to Emily.

Treasured letter regarding Sunday, June 23, 2019.

Mike's family belongs to an HOA that has a swimming pool which the family enjoys every much.  This is Milly enjoying some pizza.

Emily was at girls' camp but Desi and the rest of the child enjoyed a day at the pool with friends and treats.
