2020 February

\February started with a huge snow storm that closed the schools for our grandchildren in Utah.

John scrapped our driveway and walks several times.

In Colorado, Mordecai was at a school camp for four days in the mountains during that snowy time.

He was one tired, happy boy when he got home.

Mordecai went to the Fort Collins Temple to do baptisms for the dead for the first time.  Emily was also in the group of young people.  Emily is second from the end on the left and Mordecai is on the end on the top right row.

The Young Men gave us a "heart attack" for Valentine's Day.

Kristilyn's children had a teacher work day on Valentine's Day and the weather was beautiful so we enjoyed West Jordan Park.  This is Kristilyn with Lillian and Amelia.

We had a fun activity with many of the family in January learning about each other.  In this pictures we have Lydia, Jason, Amelia, Ethan John, Talisa, Grant, James, Grandpa and Lillian in the front.

Victoria likes the stickers.

Kim went with Kira on a field trip to the Utah State Capitol to remember that Utah women received the right to vote 100 years ago.  Kira is in the solid purple jacket with a friend.

Kim had to use this mini-van for a few days while her regular vehicle was being repaired after someone backed into it.

Talisa had her 14th birthday

Talisa made her own designer birthday cake.

Lillian and Amelia memorized long sections for their presentation of  Good Master, Sweet Ladies about children who lived in the 1200's.

Lillian played the part of Barbary the Mudslinger.

Amelia played the part of Taggot the Blacksmith's Daughter.

Grant and James' Science Fair project placed at district so now will go on to compete at the U of U.  The project is to see how plants living in the fish tank can minimize the frequency of cleaning necessary to keep the fish healthy.

We celebrated John's birthday by taking him the the Clark Planetarium.  He loves to watch the balls.

Amelia and Lillian are playing basketball with a Jr. Jazz team.  They were selected to be part of the half-time entertainment on February 24th which made for a fun outing for the whole family.

Things are changing on Temple Square.  The wall on the south side of the square is being torn down.  The South Visitor's Center is now gone.

This is an overhead view of the previous picture at ground level.

The dividing fences go right up to the Tabernacle.

The Temple Annex will eventually be removed.  Most of the trees are gone already.

They are starting to dig under the temple.

Lydia turned four years old.

Jason's Grandma Colleen (Colleen Germer Richards) died and her funeral was at Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake City.  She was buried in Farmington beside her husband. Many family members were there.

Julie, Jason, Ethan, and Lydia.  (Lydia loved the furniture.)

While the parents went to the cemetery and then to the temple, we took Lydia and Ethan to West Jordan Park.

Ethan handled the zip line on his own very well but Lydia need a little help because she thinks she is as big a Ethan.
