Lillian Diane (4 pounds 14 ounces) and Amelia Ann (5 pounds 13 ounces) were born vaginally at 4:30 AM and 4:38 AM on Monday, August 15, 2012. The birth was induced the morning of August 14. The babies were due August 25 so were 10 days early but with twins, three weeks early--37 weeks is considered normal.

Mark is introducing James and Grant to six-hours-old Lillian.

The boys were excited to meet their sisters and learn their names. They were having a bit of trouble saying their names. James kept calling Amelia "A Melody." Eventually the girls may have the nicknames of Lillie and Millie--their great grandmothers. Lillian is a beloved family name--grandmother, aunts, etc. Their middle names for for their grandmothers.

Lillian had a bit of trouble breathing so she was taken to the NICU but was only there 15 minutes when she started breathing well on her own.

Lillian Dianne looks very much like James when he was born.

Amelia looks very much like Kristilyn.

I was amazed at how strong she was, even lifting her head when just six hours old.

Proud parents with their beautiful babies.

Amelia and Lillian. Amelia's hair is a litle darker than Lillian's. Amelia has more of the looks of the Rogers family like Grant while Lillian has more of the Eliason family like James. They are beautiful, healthy babies.
