Carters, Idaho Falls Temple Open House -- April, 2017

Daniel earned his Arrow of Light

Daniel
We enjoyed our visit April 27 to 29th with them very much.  They are always very good to us.

Daniel loves baseball.  He plays with the Kansas City Royals in his town.  Unfortunately the double header that we hoped to see was cancelled because of snow.  It was a big disappointment.

It was fun playing ping pong!

Daniel goes even for the difficult shots.

We enjoyed hearing Daniel and Neal play their guitars.

Anna loves her daddy!

Helpers getting Anna ready to go to school.

The door opens and the lift is lowered.

Anna is carefully strapped to the lift.

Up she goes into the waiting hands of another helper.

She is carefully strapped into a secure area so her wheelchair won't roll.  The aide with the black hair stays with her all the time she is at school and accompanies Anna back to her home.

Daniel chose baseball player Jackie Robinson for a special report.

Grandpa, Grandma, Katrina, Neal, Anna, and Daniel at the Idaho Falls Temple Open House.  Katrina went the night before with the Young Women.  We were able to park next to the temple in the handicapped zone.

The temple is beautiful inside and out.  They have carefully cleaned and restored the original 1945 murals on the walls and updated the entire structure.

Daniel turns 12 the summer of 2018 so will be able to do baptisms for the dead.

The Idaho Falls Temple

There were warm, covered walkways from the stake center where we saw the film to the actual temple.  Most people parked at various stake centers in the city and were bused to the site.

Daniel made waffles with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast.

Anna loves music.

The music therapist came from Boise to work with her.

Anna's task was to touch the button which would cause a chord to sound which went with the music.
This is an impossible task because Anna has no motor cortex in her brain.  Miraculously, she was able to move her hand to touch the bell.  What an amazing experience.

Anna was so happy every time she was able to touch the bell!  It was a tender, emotional, exciting experience for all of us.

We played indoor baseball--Daniel's favorite game.

Daniel had a soccer game on Saturday afternoon.

After all the snow, cold, sleet, and rain, it was a beautiful day.  We enjoyed watching Daniel play soccer.
