May 2020 Pandemic

With the COVID-19 pandemic we continued to "stay home - stay safe" but restrictions were gradually loosened so that we could meet in groups of up to 20 with proper social distancing.  We worked hard in our yard but continued with our work in the mission online.  Our grandchildren never returned to the classroom to complete the school year but finished with online classes.  Many people are working from home.  It is a sad, different time as proms, recitals, trips, traditional graduations, summer parades, and camps are cancelled.

Keith's family brought apple crisp made by Talisa and Kim to celebrate John's birthday. 

James and Grant were in the virtual state science fair through the University of Utah. 

 We made hundreds of face masks through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints "Project Protect."

Ethan and Lydia made Mother's Day cards while their parents were shopping for a new car. 



Their new 2016 Honda Odyssey--Jason, Lydia, Ethan, Julie expecting twins. 

They are expecting a boy and a girl in August, 2020!

Talisa is almost as tall as Kim in this Mother's Day picture with Kira. 

This is a lovely picture of Emily, Mordecai, Mike, Desi with Ruby, Ivy, and Milly in front.  Emily, Mordecai, and Ruby performed amazingly well in their virtual piano competition!  We loved seeing their performances. 

 With the easing of the pandemic restrictions we were able to have family dinner in Springville with 17 of our Utah family in the back yard with the trampoline. 

Ice cream cones are always a big treat.  This was our last family gathering in Springville because they are moving to Orem in June to accommodate their growing family.  

Mordecai was banded for braces. 

 Mike added to their home gym with additional equipment with the help of Ruby and Ivy.

 We decorated graves with Grant, James, Lillian, Amelia, and John. 

On Memorial Day, Kathie joined us for the drive to Kanosh where we met with Tam, Craig and Lissa to decorate the graves and talk.

Our Colorado family was decked out in patriotic colors to remember those fallen heroes who lost their lives in conflict.

Afterward it was time for fun with hoppity horse races at home.  

 Kira was thrilled to be able to return to her gymnastics classes after over two months of closure because of the pandemic. 

Kira usually spends four hours a week in classes at Olympus.  She has continued to practice and advanced to the Excel team.
