Grandma -- Kathryn traveled to Texas with Julie, Jason, Sarah, and Spencer to look for a home. We stayed in a duplex in Louisville.
Houses in Texas don't have basements but have two stories to provide more room.
Sarah and Spencer were sitting well but not yet crawling. We took lots of walks around the neighborhood and met lots of friendly Texans. One family even gave us cupcakes!
The last night there was a tornado watch and we waited in the bathroom. Sarah was asleep in the master bedroom closet so she was safe. We traveled through the new Salt Lake City Airport. We were gone from April 26 to 29. Jason's parents cared for Lydia and Ethan.
Anna is our seventh grandchild, born in 2009. She needed to have surgery for scoliosis to put two titanium rods into her back because the brace was no longer effective. The long surgery required about 53 screws her back. She was in Primary Children's hospital from May 28 until May 5 with Katrina with her at all times.
A special wound vac covered the long incision.
She was intubated for two days.
She has to wear a special collar (which took three tries to create) to stabilize the tiny screws in her neck.
Ice packs help with the pain along with other medications.
Anna came home from the hospital on May 5 and stayed with us in Lindon until May 11 when she was released to return to Rexburg.
John spent part of his 75th birthday serving as a missionary in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Temple Square
The construction of a new plaza continues.
Mother's Day was extra special this year. Neal and Daniel came down to spend the weekend with Katrina and Anna since they hadn't seen them in two weeks because of the surgery.
Keith's family came over for a fun visit on Saturday.
Sunday dinner was very special to have half of our family together--our three daughters Katrina, Kristilyn, and Julie and their families!

We visited with Uncle Frank Byers and helped him sort through some of Aunt Lillis's things.
Frank continues to love his hobby of keeping track of the wards, branches, and stakes in the Church.
