Jens Jensen Schow, Skow, or Skov father of Maren Jensen. (Whitlock) There is no listing for him in the official records but his history written by Hazel A Watts in 1962 indicates that he arrived in September 9, 1855, after having traveled from Liverpool, England, to New Orleans, Louisana, on the ship “James Nesmith” with 400+ Scandinavian immigrants.

Soren Christoffersen 37 (Whitlock) (first trip) Soren had two sons with him on this trip, Christian Sorensen Christoffersen-11, and Hans Sorensen Christoffersen 6. Hans died from measles during the ocean voyage on the John J. Boyd . Christian is not listed among the pioneers.

Soren Christoffersen Hansen (43) Returning missionary. (Whitlock) During voyage on Electric he was captain of 350 emigrating Saints, and was appointed to follow Captain Murdock’s train across the plains as an interpreter for the Scandinavians.
