The Whitlock Reunion held at Mutual Dell in American Fork Canyon today turned out very well. The Grant and Mildred Rasband family were in charge and we worked hard to make it a memorable day for everyone. We had over 130 people there. There was plenty of good food and treats, the audio-visual equipment worked well, and Sonja and Becky’s planning of fun games were fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the community singing with Mavis playing and piano and Steve leading the singing with a log. We sang the songs that we have sung together myi whole life. The games were clever and fun. Edie did a cute job with the prizes. Especially memorable was the crossword puzzle with the various family members and fun clues and matching the correct picture with the correct family. The “family trees” were beautifully drawn and the Uncle Sam sign-in sign was clever. The slide shows which Tiffany Keetch put together from everyone’s contributions were a big hit.
Pam and Ron Nelson and part of their family were here from Oregon and Randy and Launa Whitlock and their family were here from California. Bill, Joy, Patsy, Jimmy and Cody were there from Aunt Edie’s family. Aunt Mavis and Uncle Orr Hill had recent heart surgeries but McManus’ brought them up from St. George to be with us. Uncle Morris, Aunt Elaine and Brent have moved into a lovely senior citizen condo in Lehi. Scott Hill is now a bishop. Roger DuPaix was ordained a patriarch. Debbie DuPaix is expecting baby #2. Meri Jacobs’ family was there from Chicago and Angi Gerrie and her boys were there from Canada. All the Keetches were there but Steve’s family. Paige Johnson is getting married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 14 and the reception will be in Becky and Brent’s yard. Everyone worked hard to make it a happy, fun day for everyone. We look forward to another reunion in 2012.
