We have had wonderful communications this week with all our family members. It was delightful to have our Utah family together on Sunday evening for dinner. Talisa and Kira had cute Halloween outfits on. Grant and James were persuaded to put on their construction outfits so they could have some of birthday cupcakes with sprinkles to celebrate Kristilyn’s birthday. We enjoyed seeing and hearing about the costumes of all the grandchildren. Thank you all for sending pictures and suggestions for music for the video. This really is a family effort and it will be fun to capture the memories.
Stephen DuPaix has been in the hospital this past week with double pneumonia. He did not have surgery but developed a type of viral pneumonia which was extremely serious. Please keep him in your prayers. He is home now.
Last week we taught the Fullmers from Midway, Utah, who are working in the FHC at BYU. They had extensive pioneer heritage. We worked with them to update their skills which would be helpful at their FHL. There are so many new things coming out on a monthly and sometimes weekly basis that genealogy and family history work is growing exponentially. This week John is teaching a man who is going to Thailand to work in the mission office but the mission president requested that he have additional training in family history before he left. He brought in a new laptop computer for John to download all the latest programs for him. I’m teaching a sister from Brazil this week. She came here about 15 years ago, married, and now is returning to her home city (Brazilia) for a full time mission with her husband. They have been waiting for his visa for four months and working in one of the zones. This is the first training she is getting. I’m grateful for all those who are working in indexing or digital imaging for the millions of images they are making available for us on the computer.
