We love this newborn picture of Ruby Marie Rogers from Mike and Desi.
Ruby Marie was born on Valentine's Day, 2011 in Louisville, Boulder, Colorado. Also born that same day in Ogden, Utah, was Bristol Lynn Smith, her second cousin, daughter of Doug and Tracy Smith. Doug is the son of Dennis and Kathie Smith. Tracy had toxemia so they had to take Bristol by C-section a month early. She weighed 5 pounds 9 ounces. She is the fourth child and daughter for Doug and Tracy.
Tam and Dave Rogers, John's brother, enter the MTC on Monday, February 21, 2011, for two weeks training before going to Fukuoka Japan to serve as the office couple for 18 months. There is a temple on Fukuoka and the mission offices are on the ground floor of that building. Dave and Tam's apartment is about 10 minutes away. They will have to get a car when they get there and they drive on the left side of the road. Neither of them speak any Japanese more than greetings but they are intelligent organizers with great people skills who will be a great asset wherever they serve.
Dave and Tam flew from the new St. George airport on Saturday to Salt Lake City to stay with Dan and Tonya over the weekend. Dan will take them to the MTC. He said it was only appropriate because they took him to the MTC as a young missionary. We had a lovely evening visiting with the family in Dan's home and enjoyed a delicious dinner. It was so much fun to listen to the clever banter and well as share family news. In this picture are Dan and Amy on the front step, Tonya and Colton on the middle step, and Tia in back. Dave and Tam are standing on the right of the banister.

Colton graduates from Bingham High School this spring. He is on the swim team. Tia is in 10th grade and attends the nearby, newly-opened Herriman High School. Tonya finished the basement of their home in South Jordan. Their home is beautifully decorated. Dan is a wonderful father, business man, and gracious host. It was a joy to be in their home and get to know them better.
