New Stake Presidency
Pres. Craig Worthington, Pres. Steve Smith, and Pres. Joseph R Jones were released. They have served with love and enthusiasm for nine years. The two members of the Seventy presiding were Gerrit W. Gong and Samuel W. Clark. The new stake presidency is Pres. Robert (Trina) McCleary, Pres. Scott (Collette Butterfield) Davis, and Russell (Jennifer) Urry. Pres. Urry was in France so he was interviewed and called via telephone. Scott Davis is president of the singles' branch. Jennifer Urry has been battling breast cancer for the past three years but was given the assurance through the Spirit that her illness would not be a detriment to her husband's service. Alan Hanson has been called to the Washington DC mission and leaves in April. There are 68 temple workers and 12 full time missionaries in our stake. Pres. Worthington set apart 80 missionaries for full-time service. The adult session was nice. In our combined First-Third Ward Choirs we had only 6 men and about 15 women but the music went well. It was very tender to hear from all of the incoming and outgoing stake presidencies, the Seventies and their wives. They have given excellent service and the new presidency will continue to do well.
