Brigham City Temple Open House

 John, Aunt Lillis Byers, and I attended the open house of the Brigham City Temple this morning. 

 The tour started by parking in the Autoliv parking lot a couple of miles away from the temple then going by bus to the temple.  Many of the Smiths have worked for Autoliv manufacturing automobile airbags and other safety equipment.  They have various plants throughout Box Elder County. 

 The welcome film and reception after the tour were held in the parking garage underneath the temple.  We entered into the baptistry area.  The font is situated on the backs of 12 metal (?) oxen.  The temple is small but very serviceable and beautiful--built with the finest materials.   The paintings show various scenes in the area from the mountains to the migratory bird refuge and of course, peaches! 

 The peach blossom motif is found in many places in the temple from the windows to the granite fencing. 

 This is the fountain in front of the temple.  There were many, many volunteers making the tour meaningful for the visitors.  The temple will serve 40,000 members in that area.  It is a beautiful temple!

 The Brigham City Tabernacle is directly across the street from the temple.

 Kathie fixed a delicious lunch for us of chicken salad on croissants, tomatoes from her garden, Jello, and peach cobbler a la mode.  This pictures shows Lillis, Kathie, Dennis, and John with Tim in front. 

 We had a really good visit with everyone.  Tim enjoyed talking with the family.  He has a motorized wheelchair in his home but no ramp to get it outside the house. 

 Katrina took Anna home to Idaho from Primary Children's Medical Center on Thursday afternoon.  Her surgery went well and they are trying to work out care for her other problems.
