Mordecai is a happy two-year-0ld. We were excited to have Mike, Desi, Emily, and Mordecai come and stay with us from March 15-March 21. Desi's mother needed to come out to visit with her father and brothers. Her father is having increasing problems with dementia. It was wonderful that they could have time to visit with both the Pehrson and the Rogers families. 
We met Mike and Desi and their children at the Salt Lake Temple after our session on Friday then took Emily and Mordecai home so Mike and Desi could attend a live session. Desi had never attended at live endowment session so it was a new experience for her. I often think of Grandpa Vic Rogers memorizing all the male parts except Peter for the living sessions in the Manti Temple. 
It was great to have the Eliasons, Mike Rogers, Burninghams and Keith Rogers together on Saturday. March Madness basketball made the day more interesting, especially with BYU's win over Florida earlier in the week. Unfortunately they lost to Kansas State on Saturday night. 
It is always a challenge to get family pictures with children. It is so nice that the adults are much more cooperative. 
Mordecai and Emily slept on the mattresses in the family room next to their parents' bedroom. It is always a challenge to get little ones to sleep. Mike and Desi have lovely singing voices. It is amazing how many Primary songs Emily knows as well as how creative she is in making up other songs. Mordecai chimes in with words and humming from time to time.

Kira will sometimes wave now. She is a happy, smiling baby. 
The children played happily in the toy room.
Julie and Jason are very busy with school. Jason will be teaching a seminary class for the next couple of weeks beginning with III Nephi 11. Lucky students! Julie's master's project is amazing.
It warmed up Saturday afternoon so the men took the children outside to play. They ran around the house several times then Mike disappeared up into the tree. It was quite the surprise for the little ones.
Dinner time was fun to the little ones with their own little table and chairs with cute paper plates and cups. They all ate well then slipped off into the play room so the adults were able to visit for a long time. Kira is sitting in the high chair and wants to eat everything she sees.
The Eliasons--Kristilyn, Grant, Mark, and James. Old Doggie is Grant's almost constant companion. Old Doggy will do the things Grant doesn't want to do. James is doing much better since his stay in the hospital. Mark brought us wonderful products to try from his convention in Florida.

Grant, James and Morecai in back, Emily and Talisa, then Kira, sitting in front.Mike, Desi, Emily, Mordecai, Karen Bainbridge (Desi's mom) and Karen Hamblin returned to Colorado Sunday morning. Mike has to go to California for testing for Ball over Easter weekend for a few days so Desi is taking her children and driving with her mother beginning March 31 to spend time in Wisconsin, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Tennessee with her siblings and her dad. She'll be back in Colorado on April 10.
Keith will be flying to Oslo, Norway, for training for a few days in early April. See his blog for further details.
Kristilyn, Julie, and Melody are flying back to New York to spend time with the Carters from April 21 to April 26. They wanted to show their love and support in a tangible way!
John and I had our interview with Pres. Dennis Simmons this last week and were invited to extend our mission another year until the end of July, 2011. We are thrilled with the prospect especially since the Kuchers, Pethels, Sis. Tippetts, Sis. Marlow, Elder Mills, Sister Susine, Sister Piltz and others will also continue to be there. It will be all right for us to take a little time to visit our out-of-state children which we will do after our Rogers' family reunion in July 22-26. The reunion will be a delightful way to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this year.
