We had a lengthy visit with Katrina on the telephone this morning. Her ward meetings were cancelled because of the deadly tornadoes in Ohio which created problems for them in New York. Neal is in Canada from May 31 to June 12. He calls every day so she is especially grateful for Cindy, the nurse who comes in to help care for Anna 16 hours/week divided over three days. That enables Katrina to get groceries, take a shower, do something with Daniel, or just take care of some of the many things that need to be done. Neal will be in Ireland from June 30 until July 11. He will be home for a week then they are planning to come to Utah on July 19 for a couple of weeks. They don't have their plane reservations yet because the Ireland trip was just finalized. Daniel is in preschool three afternoons a week to learn about science, nature, and music during June. He loves the activities. The adoption is on the slow track. Anna has to have the LDS Church Social Services as her guardian before the adoption can be finalized. However, New York State doesn't recognize LDS Social Services in Salt Lake City as legal entity through which to transfer the Medicade privileges so they are creating an LDS Social Services account for her in New York.
Congratulations to Julie for defending her master's development project so well on Friday. Kristilyn said that Julie gave "intelligent and articulate responses." We wish her well in her continuing job search.
Kristilyn and the boys stopped here on their way home from Provo on Friday night. We picked up a pizza and Mark came over after work. We had a pleasant evening looking at pictures and videos of Eliasons. I showed James and Grant the snowball bush and gave them each a snowball which they promptly started throwing. The iris, poppies, and peonies are really beautiful right now.
It is amazing to go from snow last week to sleeping with no covers and the windows open this week. 
Saturday we bought some hosta and another Rose of Sharon to try and get more summer and fall color into the yard. John mowed the lawn and helped me with the planting. We also went to the temple in the morning. There are so many things that we care deeply about that we can do nothing but pray, go to the temple, serve the best we can, and trust that Father will resolve our concerns in His own time and way for the best for everyone. We appreciate Melody's telephone calls. We're grateful things are moving well with moving into their new home the first of July. Thanks to Desi and Kim for quickly sending me the digital files of the pictures I wanted.
Last week my student was born in Argentina but his family was from Italy and Uruguay. I'm so grateful for the knowledge I have of Latin American culture. It is a blessing to be able to explain customs and situations even though it is about their country. We had several tender mercies or miracles including finding information about the wife's grandfather who has been "lost" for decades. The Holy Ghost is a marvelous revelator. It is amazing to me to be able to do family history research all over the world because of the tools that are becoming increasingly available. Last Friday afternoon I researched Grand Turk, British East Indies because it is an important place in my next week's student's genealogy. I'd never heard of the place before--Thank goodness for Google.
John had a large Sunday School class of ten today--all missionaries. Since many of the spouses don't speak Spanish it is a good place to go for a gospel class in English. For YM and YW we had a combined meeting with the parents to tell them about Youth Conference which will be at the Seegmiller's Ranch near Bear Lake at the end of July as well Wilderness Camp. I was pleased to get all of permission slips and liability forms signed by the parents who were there. I'm glad I had a opportunity of going to Wilderness Camp two years ago because it was such a fun and important place for my own daughters.
